To Open 13th Chicago Irish Film Festival
With all the excitement surrounding the silent film The Artist the festival is very excited about its first screening of a silent film Come on Over, a 1922 Samuel Goldwyn film starring Colleen Moore. Yes, the same Colleen Moore that created The Fairy Castle at the Museum of Science and Industry. Denis Scott, president of the Chicago Theatre Organ Society and the Silent Film Society of Chicago will accompany the film that was secured through the support of the Irish Film Institute and the Museum of Modern Art's Film Preservation Center. Come On Over premiered in Chicago on March 11, 1922 making this its 90th anniversary with its festival screening on Sunday, March 4th.
There are many more films to see at this year's fest along with a number of guest filmmakers to make for interesting and exciting after screening discussions. The entire festival schedule will be up on the Chicago Irish Film Festival website and tickets for the opening and closing screenings and receptions along with festival passes are available now on the Beverly Arts Center Events page.
See you at the fest!
